This is a unique election, as it is a "special election" for the vacancy that was caused by the resignation of the person who won in 2017. While a new person was appointed, that was only until the next scheduled election, which is this year.

This means there are two races in Ward 3 - one for a full term that is normally up and also an open seat (currently held by Councilwoman Meyer, who is running for Mayor) and one for two years, the seat Kevin is running for.

Because three candidates filed, there is a primary on August 6th and the top two will emerge to face each other in the general election on November 5th.

July 17 - Advance Voting by Mail Begins
July 29 - Advance Voting in Person Begins
July 30 - Advance ballot application deadline - 5 p.m.
August 6 - Primary Election - Polls open 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
